The Shabby Tea Room {Cream, Kraft & Black}

Our Shabby Tearoom Challenge this week is to create a project using the colours BLACK, KRAFT AND CREAM/WHITE! The photo suggests a New Year theme but really, it is up to you what you create and remember, it does not have to be shabby!

I am the hostess this week and above is the photo I used...I loved the sepia look...I am really into neutrals.

For my card I used the Paper Sweeties Set called Let It Snow and the Paper Sweeties dies called Homespun Holidays Sweet Cuts! Love that there was a star in the pack! I layered some gold ribbon beneath the star cut outs and I put the whole panel through my crimper. The card is really pretty with the gold peeking through.

I am also entered this card into the following challenges:

A Review of 2013 {My Favourites}

Such an amazing year of crafting for me. This year I fulfilled some of the big dreams on my "crafty" bucket list and I conquered some fears too about my crafting. All in all, I loved crafting in 2013!

I have chosen one favourite card for each month of 2013...it was an exciting year with the Gallery Idol contest (that was amazing) and lots of design team work with so many awesome companies!!! I am so thankful for the wonderful opportunities!

Fresh Squeezed Stamps Design Team Card and Playing with a few Challenges at Splitcoast Stampers

Today I am sharing this card at Fresh Squeezed Stamps! This is the time of year a teacher has many special people to thank! I have such awesome volunteers and co-workers who work with me and help me everyday!!! It is nice to create a special card for them.

There is one gal in particular who has gone above and beyond. So I went to work with my favourite stamp sets called Hot, Hot, Hot and Take a Number. I just love the pretty font and the teacup is fun to paper piece!

Ribbon Carousel {Anything Goes} & CASE this Sketch

This is the last week to play along at the Ribbon Carousel Challenge!!! The challenge is Anything Goes!!! I wanted to play with my TAWS (The Alley Way Stamps) and get them inky, so I went in search of a fun sketch and found one at CASE this Sketch.

I wanted to cut into some new designer paper I picked up at a local craft store. It is a boy paper pad but terrific for any kind of birthday card too I think! It is by Echo Park. Love it! I also used some SRM Stickers to create the scalloped edge and for the sentiment! I love my SRM stickers!!!

Merry Christmas to all of my blogging friends! I wish you the best for the New Year!

Designing for the Card Concept!

Today I am introducing myself over at the Card Concept as a designer! Strange to be doing so!

I have to admit; I did not know where to place myself in the list of styles. I know I like to create cards that are clean & layered but I wanted to have the challenge of creating Classy & Elegant! Here is a project I made earlier in the Fall.

The Classy/Elegant Style can be defined as:

  • polished
  • shiny finish
  • sparkling embellishments
  • rich colour scheme
  • sophisticated sentiments
  • regal
  • sweeping
  • dramatic
  • monochromatic
  • layered textures
  • awe
  • impress

Thank you so much for your support and encouragement with this new challenge!! I am excited to see what the team creates in their various styles! They are all fabulous designers and wonderful people.

Merry Monday #88 {Use an Animal on your Christmas card!}

Welcome to the Merry Monday Christmas Challenge.

This week, I am not sharing a card. I have decided to take the week off
but the team has created such beauties to share with you!

Our challenge this week:

Create a Christmas card with an animal
of some sort on it!

1. Each week there will be a brand new challenge posted on Monday at 5am (PST).
2. The challenge will be either a theme, an inspiration photo, a sketch or a colour combo.
3. Each participant is encouraged to comment on 3 cards in the Gallery. (Who doesn't love comments!)
4. Have fun!
5. Follow the weekly challenge closely.

Welcome to our winner from 2 weeks ago, Marybeth! She is our Guest Designer this week!
